Extreme skincare routine for men with a lot of free time
Ever since I was a teenager I had suffered from skin problems, so I started taking great care of my skin – especially even on how much I hate cigarettes, alcohol and sleepless nights, they affect your skin drastically. After trying the vast majority of the products available out there, here is the routine that I follow almost every day:
DAY TIME:
- Clarisonic + Effaclar Gel de La Roche-Posay: On average, men’s hands have around 3,200 bacteria of 150 different species, so it is not enough to wash your face just with your hands. The Clarisonic is a device that almost like an iPhone, once you try it, you cant live without it. The Effaclar gel works wonders for oily and combination skin as it does not contain any soap.
- Eau Thermale de La Roche-Posay: To close the pores after every wash, many dermatologists recommend to use a tonic; I prefer to use thermal water for its soothing and moisturizing properties.
- Phloretin CF de SkinCeuticals: An antioxidant that fights against free radicals and helps to uniform the skin. Just beware, the first few times you put it on, it burns!
- Retexturing Activator de SkinCeuticals: My dermatologist recommended this product to help me eliminate stains and achieve a better skin texture.
- Crema contorno de ojos de Avène: The skin around the eyes is the first to reveal the aging signs, so for younger looking skin it does require a more specific care.
- The Renewal Oil de La Mer: One of the first creams I ever used was La Mer for its regeneration properties, but as the texture of the original cream is very thick, a drop of this oil reaches the same benefits without leaving the skin oily. It can also be used for the beard, hair, feet …
- Anthelios XL Anti-Brillance de La Roche-Posay: Sunscreen is the first step for someone who wants to take care of their skin. This sunscreen has the highest protection factors, in addition to matify the skin to eliminate any shine.
NIGHT TIME:
- Effaclar Gel de La Roche-Posay: I wash my face again by night, but this time without the Clarisonic, to eliminate all the dirt accumulated during the day.
- Redermic R & Redermic R Eyes de La Roche-Posay: These intensive anti-aging creams contain retinol, which at night help prevent premature signs of aging. They smell a bit weird, because of the high concentration of retinol, but anyways I hope no one will be smelling my eyes during my sleep.
- The Renewal Oil de La Mer: Once again I use the oil by night , because I wan to remain looking young until my 40s.
LOTION:
- Infusion d’Homme de Prada: According to the official web page, it has been discontinued, but you can still get this lotion that smells like soap with a citrus touch in many places.
ONCE A WEEK:
- Mascarilla Glam Glow Supermud:This clay mask with salicylic acid helps eliminate acne ,blemishes and reduce pores. It hardens after 10 minutes and leaving the skin very softly.
- Brightening Bubbling Mask de Peter Thomas Roth: This oxygen mask foams right after applying, it’s almost miraculous: after rinsing the skin looks way younger and bright.
- Toleriane Ultra de La Roche-Posay: After all the masks – and the accumulated hangovers the weekend provided – this product calms down the ardor of the skin and the rest of the products that I kindly offer my skin.
- Oil Absorbing Lotion de La Mer: Finally, I use this La Mer cream, which like all of them, contains the miraculous concentrate of seaweed that cured its inventors burns, this one has a firmer texture than my everyday oil.
