How to be the best dressed in the office (just as Luis Miguel Moreno)
One of the most frequently asked questions I receive from my readers is “What should I wear to work?”, because no matter the industry, the position or the workplace, no one wants to solve a puzzle at 8 a.m. to decide whats appropriate to go work with. Thats why, I approached Luis Miguel Moreno, who is currently working in the public relations area for the luxury brands of Diageo, I’ve seen him at meetings, lunchtime, and leaving his house: He is always perfectly dressed, work appropriate, but modern. He is single handed the best dressed in the office.
Here are some tips for other men who want to make an effort on their look on a daily basis:
The golden rule is – to plan the looks in advance: “Fighting not to blend in is not easy, everyones tries not to do it but suddenly you find yourself in the food court with khaki pants and a plaid dress shirt ordering menu no.2. One tip I can share with you to avoid this is leaving your clothes ready since the night before; this way the next morning you will not be rushing against the clock. If you don’t do this, it’s easier to fall for the easy boring look. “
Be confident with what you wear:“Fortunately, in the company where I work there are no prejudices and everyone is fully accepted. I firmly believe that, obviously without offending anyone, you shouldn’t give a dam abut others opinions”.
Know your our own limits: “Fear is a mechanism of survival. Over the years, thanks to this restraints, I managed to avoid looks like dying my hair, very low waisted jeans, superhero jumpsuits, deep V neck t-shirts, embellished pocked jeans (Ed Hardy style), “mirrey” paisley shirts, satin shirts, cowboy hats … “
You have to dress according to the occasion: “Whether you’re with a client at the office, in the city or at the beach, during the week or weekends, you have to make sense.Just as there is a specific attire for each sport, we have match the situation on which we find ourselves. Another tip is,Its allays better to be overdressed than underdressed. “
The worst thing that a man can use: “90s baggy dad jeans are the worst look a man can wear today. Gentlemen, there is a large variety of brands to choose from, burn those Gap jeans from the year 93 for once. Gym clothes outside the gym look very bad too , and bright suits. In any color, but especially gray ones makes me crazy.”
